Awareness through SMS on COVID -19 Pandemic
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has created a global health crisis that has had a deep impact on the way we perceive our world and our everyday lives. Not only the rate of contagion and patterns of transmission threatens our sense of agency, but the safety measures put in place to contain the spread of the virus also require social distancing and other measures to be abide by refraining from doing what is inherently human, which is to find solace in the peoples. Within this context of physical threat, social and physical distancing, as well as public alarm, what has been and can be the role of the different individual, social and societal levels.
To safe the stakeholder and their neighbors from infection by that virus BBF made a programme for awareness buildup of the stakeholder for preventing the dissemination and remedies of infections and to be informed to them through sending SMS on COVID – 19 awareness and prevention .The SMS slogans were as follows which have been provide them and follow up –
1.Stay home, unnecessarily don’t go outside of home.
2.Maintain Social distant minimum 3ft
3.Maintain Personal hygiene strongly.
4.Never coughing, Sneezing and drop letting outside anywhere as you like
5.Use tissues /Handkerchief during Sneezing and use your hand knee during sneezing.
6. During Fever and Sneezing use mask.
7. Dont touch your mouth, nose and eyes without washed hand.
8. Wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer.
9. Always avoid the mass gathering.
For Poultry Farm Management Messages during COVID-19:
1. Always use disinfectant during Entry of farm and out of farm.
2. Use separate dress for working inside the farm
3. No visitors allowed inside the farm.
4. Avoid the rumor on poultry and cattle’s as the source of transmission of COVID-19.
5. Intake more eggs and chicken to increase immunity for fighting against COVID-19.
Mobile messages were delivered during COVID-19 infestations to the stakeholders under Sreepur, Gazipur, there are 69 poultry farmers from 11 villages of 2 unions of Sreepur upazila of Gazipur Zilla has covered regular SMS on COVID-19 awareness related 14 massage. All the 14 SMS were regularly sending to these farmers personal mobile number, the awareness massages were on about the information of COVID-19 cause, prevention, personal hygiene, awareness for poultry farmers in farm mismanagement during COVID-19 crisis time and hygiene and sanitation awareness that improve, aware and increase the knowledge capacity of corona virus prevention measurement and mental strength than panic.
All farmers and stakeholders are satisfied on communication and happy to say that in emergency period, our communication, message and voice call for follow up were very helpful to safe their selves from CORONA virus.
As there are 69 stakeholders got SMS on their using mobile and they were discussed the awareness message with their family members and surroundings immediately by suggestion of BBF. The achievements were as follow, 69 number of stakeholders get 14 COVID-19 awareness SMS regularly in a certain period of interval, daily 69 beneficiaries share with their family members on an average 4 person in a family and neighbors would be average 4 person, that means daily this 69 SMS not only share with 69 beneficiaries but also share with 1380 persons on an average daily.
As the emergency COVID-19 period during lockdown everybody have to stay at home and their only linking and personal communication source is personal mobile phone personally at this time, so they get the SMS very cordially and over phone given feedback with thanks for the important information that BBF share through SMS regularly. There is no alternative for dissemination of important messages to our stakeholders to prevent and safe from COVID-19. BBF think and realized that methods have been more effective and minimum time consuming for deliberation of messages regarding COVID-19 to the stakeholder .The system found a gross benefit executed by BBF in Sreepur upazila and there were total 1380 peoples are aware directly and indirectly through SMS on COVID-19 pandemic and no one is contaminated with COVID-19 within the list and area, their family members and neighbors also.
