Mobile Marketing support for Poultry Farmers
A mobile market was operated at Putiajani Hat, Fazilhati Union, Delduar, Tangail on 26th April, 2021 from 9am to 2pm as a continuation of the initiative that was taken jointly by Delduar Upozila parishod and Beez Bistar Foundation. Md. Arifur Rahman, Livestock Extension Officer of Delduar upozila; Md. Hasan-Al-Sharif, Liaision and Monitoring Officer; Md. Hero Miah a Salesman and Livestock and Dairy Development project (LDDP) delegates were present there to monitor the event.
The mobile selling activity was conducted by a pick-up van where a titled banner was hanged. This vehicle moved in various spot of Elashin union and sold the poultry products. Local consumer got a huge discount on retail price where 650 number of eggs were sold at 6.70 BDT per unit and 150 number of 316 kg live broiler at 115 BDT per kg in this area. While selling these poultry products, awareness raising leaflets had been also distributed among the sellers.
The products had been directly collected from the poultry farmers. The Covid -19 pandemic strongly affected the purchasing capacity of people and during this existing lockdown, people could not afford animal protein at retail price and this mobile selling activities made them little bit relax to feed their family. At the same time poultry farmers benefited through marketing of their poultry products.
