Model Poultry Farming for Food Safety
BeezBistar Foundation (BBF) in collaboration with Department of Livestock (DLS) have been working for developing safe poultry products through model poultry farmers. In relation to developing model poultry farmers “Safe Broiler husbandry Information Book” and “Flip Chart of Safe Poultry Value Chain Training Module” booklet have published by BBF in collaboration with DLS. These IEC materials help poultry farmers to keep record of the productivity of their farms and producing safe broiler.
A meeting was held at DLS Office, Farmgate, Dhaka where BBF shared the information book and the IEC materials that published by BBF to the DLS officials. Dr. Shaikh Azizur Rahman, Director General (DG), Dr A. B. M Khaleduzzaman, Deputy Director, Farm, Jahangir Alam jony, General Secretary, BBF and Mallika Saha, BBF was present in this meeting. In this meeting, BBF shared their future plans, initiatives to create model poultry farmer so that the consumers could have safe poultry products as well as the poultry farmers could benefitted for marketing of their safe poultry products. Replicating the idea of model farmer would be a great benefit for consumers and farmers. DLS ensured that they will help BBF in this regard and will always be work together with BBF.
