BBF Observed National Food Safety Day-2022: Safe poultry for good health


Every year on 2nd February Bangladesh observe National Safe food Day. This year throughout the country the day has been observing with a vow to ensuring safe food for all in a befitting manner. This year’s theme of the day is ‘Susastho er Mulniti, Nirapod Khaddo O Susastho Bidhi’.

In this year for COVID-19 pandemic situation, BeezBistar Foundation (BBF) virtually observed the day. An online seminar was held though Google meet with participation of Dr. Md. Nure Alam Siddque, Upazila Livestock Officer, Department of Livestock, Kumarkhali; Rafiqul Islam, Councilor, Kumarkhali; Upazila Consumer Committee (UCC) members; farmers and all the BBF staffs.

At the beginning, a short presentation has been given about the achievements of BBF about safe food. Then Dr. Nure Alam Siddque gave his speech and appreciates BBF for their achievements and work process to move forward the Government’s Zero tolerance policy towards adulterate food. Jahangir Alam Jony, General Secretary, BBF, also gave his speech and shared BBF’s goals and missions for campaigning safe poultry production. The UCC members also shared their experience in field and gave valuable suggestions regarding safe poultry production. The poultry farmers also shared that they maintain proper hygiene and producing safe poultry without applying antibiotics and other harmful chemicals. They also shared their problems and ask the authority to help them out from those particular situations. 

The programme ended with an appreciation of BBF successful attempts for ensuring safe poultry products to the consumers and all the members of BBF promised that BBF will continue their work like this in future as well.
