BBF Participation in Safe Food Festival

Safe food festival was held on 6 – 7 December, 2022 in Chader Hat playing ground, Mohammadpur, Dhaka for awareness rising to environment friendly healthy life through consumption of safe food.

The event was jointly organized by Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) and Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB). The technical and financial support was provided by Welthungerhilfe, Germany.

BBF Observed National Food Safety Day-2022: Safe poultry for good health

Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Kumarkhali held a meeting with local women members to observe International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against woman (CEDAW) Day. Observation of World Consumer Rights Day with the theme ‘’TRUSTED SMART PRODUCTS”

BBF celebrated the World consumers rights day in Tangail Sadar, Delduar of Tangail  and Kumarkhali  Upazila of  Kusthia District. Climate change and agriculture

A meeting was held on “The impact of climate change on agriculture and what to do next” in Veramara village, Kushtia. Beezbistar Foundation (BBF) team, Kushtia arranged this discussion with the farmers where different impact of climate change on agriculture had been discussed. Model Poultry Farmer Certification in Kushtia

Certification system is one of key result of IBP Food safety programme. In October 2021, model farmers of Kumarkhali, Kushita have been given certificate to give recognition. This certification system is a joint implementation of Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and BeezBistar Foundation (BBF). A total 21 farmers of Kumarkhali has been recognized as ‘Model Farmer’ through this certification scheme which will help the farmers to promote their safe poultry products.

Local ownership through monitoring visit

Upazila Consumer Committee (UCC) have been actively supporting the poultry farmers for developing safe poultry value chain. The UCC regularly visiting the poultry farmers and accordingly providing support including communicating with the DLS, local government institutions for bringing together the government, civil society and poultry farmers to develop partnerships and promote new ways of working that better serve the citizens.

Capacity Building of model poultry farmers  

Two days long workshop on Capacity building in KPI (Key Performance indicator) for master trainer was held of BBF working areas in Delduar, Tangail Sadar, Kumarkhali and Sreepur upazila. Collective Participation in Livestock Exhibition-2021

The Livestock Exhibition 2021 was organized by Department of Livestock Services (DLS) in collaboration with Beez Bistar Foundation (BBF) on 05 June 2021 in Sheikh Rasel Mini Stadium, Deldduar, Tangail. There were 50 stalls exhibited in the exhibition. Out of 50 stalls Dairy cattle 15; Beef cattle 7; Goat 6; Sheep 2; Pigeon 2; Layer poultry farm 5; Sonali 2;  Broiler 5; Feed dealer 3 stalls. Model Poultry Farming for Food Safety

BeezBistar Foundation (BBF) in collaboration with Department of Livestock (DLS) have been working for developing safe poultry products through model poultry farmers. In relation to developing model poultry farmers “Safe Broiler husbandry Information Book” and “Flip Chart of Safe Poultry Value Chain Training Module” booklet have published by BBF in collaboration with DLS. A stall opening ceremony of milk, egg and poultry meat with reasonable price was held at Upozila Livestock Office and Veterinary Hospital, Tangail Sadar, Tangail on 22nd April, 2021.

Mobile Selling Center of Egg and Broiler

A joint initiative was taken by Delduar Upazila Parishod and Beez Bistar Foundation in this COVID-19 situation to offer people with animal protein at retail price. The initiative was known as “Mobile marketing of poultry products”. In the continuation of this initiative, a mobile celling center was arranged at Sadar, Delduar on 21st April, 2021. A two days long training program on the gender and gender based violence was held on 27-28 February 2021 at the conference room of BeezBistar foundation (BBF) in Tangail district. Panicked people are rarely leaving their homes due to the invisible corona virus. People do not want to leave their homes unless emergency needs or their livelihood options. The grocery and related food item shops, Live Bird Market, medicine shops are open as these are the daily needs for people livelihood and survival. People are coming to the market for buying their daily requirements. In markets, on the streets, in fish, meat, vegetables, shops and rickshaws, no one knows where the invisible corona virus is. Monthly Joint Monitoring Visit in Poultry Sector

Under the Issue Based Project (IBP) on Food Safety Governance in Poultry Sector, there were three monthly joint monitoring visits conducted in Tangail Sadar, Delduar of Tangail and Kumarkhali Upazila of Kusthia in March 2019. The joint monitoring visits were conducted under the leadership of local livestock officials in association with representative of Consumers Committee (CC) and BeezBistar Foundation (BBF) staffs. Meeting with poultry farmers at community level

Meeting with poultry farmers was held on 13th March 2019 at Kandua Porabari in Tangail Sadar where 19 participants attended. In the meetings 15 poultry farmers attended where 06 were female. This meeting was organized to identify the areas of positive actions of the poultry farmers with the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and follow up registration of poultry farmers and licensing of dealers. Learning and sharing workshop on mainstreaming gender and social inclusion into program cycle was held on 5th March 2019 in Non- Government Organization (NGO) Forum for Public Health, Lalmatia, Dhaka. Discussion Meeting with Poultry Farmers

Monthly Meeting with Poultry farmers was held in Gharinda Bazar of Tangail on 2I August 2018 where 18 farmers participated.
